The median price of single-family homes and condominiums on Oahu slipped in August after rising the previous two months.

Single-family homes fell 4.9 percent to $566,000 from $595,000 in July and dropped 10.9 percent from $635,000 in August 2008, according to data released today from the Honolulu Board of Realtors. Sales declined 3.1 percent to 247 from 255 a year ago.

Condo prices fell to their lowest level in more than a year at $290,000, off 7.1 percent to $312,000 in July and down 11.6 percent from $328,000 in August 2008. Sales, however, rose 1.7 percent to 351 in August from 345 a year earlier.
