Army National Guard helicopters are standing by to rescue 86 patients and staff at Kalaupapa on Molokai, Gov. Linda Lingle said.
The patients and staff at the national park where Saint Damien ministered to Hansen's Disease patients have been directed to locations on high ground where they appear to be safe, Lingle said. But depending on what happens when the tsunami hits Hilo, the helicopters could be dispatched to evacuate them.
