Former local residents Parker McLachlin and Dean Wilson will play on to the third round of the rain-plagued RBC Canadian Open after surviving the cut today. McLachlin followed his opening-round 66 with a ho-hum 72 and sits at 6-under 138 as does Wilson (70).

Both are seven shots off the pace of Jason Dufner (63), tied for 24th and won't start their third rounds until tomorrow as the tournament tries to play 36. But with more rain forecast for tomorrow, that seems unlikely.

McLachlin and Wilson are just glad to make it through to the weekend. Coming into this PGA Tour event, McLachlin had missed the cut in five of his last six, but now has survived two in a row after a tie for 24th at the U.S. Bank Championship (opposite the British Open) last weekend.

Like McLachlin, Wilson is trying to finish the season on a high note. Since the Zurich Classic of New Orleans the last weekend of April, Wilson has missed the cut eight times, was disqualified at the Travelers Championship after picking up his ball at the 18th in the second round and survived twice; tying for 40th at the AT&T National and 39th at the John Deere Classic.

Wilson is in danger of losing his tour card. On the official money list, the former Kaneohe resident is No. 141 in 21 events with $330,443. The top 125 keep their cards. McLachlin is 172nd in 18 events with $222,739, but has an exemption through 2010 with his win last year.
