A 43-year-old man is in critical condition after crashing his mo-ped into a convertible today, police said.

At about 11:40 a.m., the victim was riding his mo-ped and merging onto Ala Wai Boulevard from McCully Street. The mo-ped struck a 2008 Chrysler convertible on Ala Wai Boulevard driven by a 28-year-old man.

The driver was ejected from the mo-ped. He was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors. The convertible’s driver was not injured.
