Talk radio show host Rush Limbaugh checked out of the Queen's Medical Center this morning after being rushed to the emergency room on Wednesday with chest pains.

Before leaving the Queen's Medical Center, Limbaugh held a press conference at 11:20 a.m. to say that tests showed no problems with his heart. And he also thanked well-wishers and the medical staff who treated him.

Dressed in a blue polo shirt with white shorts and black loafers, he entered the room smiling with a ruddy complexion.

“;I want to make this as brief as I can because I want to get out of here,”; Limbaugh said to a small room packed with local and national reporters. “;I'm overcome with all of the prayers, the cards, the flowers, that have come in from people all over the country,”; he said. “;It has been a very humbling experience.”;

Limbaugh, 58, said he had an angiogram, a test in which a catheter is threaded into an artery, that showed no arterial or coronary disease.

He stayed in the hospital for observation and was released this morning.

“;The pain was real and they don't know what caused it,”; he said and speculated that it may have been a spasm in an artery.

He said it all started when he experienced pain “;like I have never experienced before”; in his upper left chest about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday while in his room at the Kahala Hotel and Resort. He walked around and sat down, but “;nothing abated.”;

Then he called the hotel security staff. In 20 minutes he was at the hospital undergoing tests and the pain was alleviated in half an hour.

“;I've been treated to the best health care the world has to offer and that is right here in the United States of America,”; he said. “;Based on what happened to me here, I don't think there's one thing wrong with the American health care system.”;

Limbaugh thanked the hotel staff for their quick response and the hospital workers for their “;extensive”; care.

Limbaugh did not take questions but when a reporter shouted out if he was taking painkillers, Limbaugh said no and laughed. In 2003, he acknowledged an addiction to painkillers that he was taking for back pain.
