Let go of that Eggo, state officials warn
POSTED: Saturday, September 05, 2009
State health officials are warning consumers not to eat Kellogg’s Eggo Cinnamon Toast Waffles and Kellogg’s Eggo Toaster Swirlz Cinnamon Roll Minis.
The Department of Health said today that Kellogg has recalled the products due to possible contamination that can cause listeriosis, an uncommon but potentially serious disease.
The recall covers certain packages of 10-count Kellogg Eggo Cinnamon Toast Waffles and eight-count Kellogg Eggo Toaster Swirlz Cinnamon Roll Minis.
Consumers are urged to check their freezers to ensure they don’t have the products. If they do, they should call the number on their package or 866-971-3320, or throw it away.
People with listeriosis have fever and muscle aches, and sometimes gastrointestinal symptoms, such as nausea or diarrhea.
