Crew members of a Hawaii-based Coast Guard C-130 Hercules plane evacuated more than 60 Haitian-Americans yesterday from Port-au-Prince.
The evacuees, including infants and toddlers, are U.S. citizens who were in Port-au-Prince when the 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck last week, according to the Coast Guard.
The C-130 crew, based at Coast Guard’s Air Station in Barbers Point, transported the group from Port-au-Prince to Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla.
