Flemings will miss UH's next exhibition

The Hawaii basketball team will once again be without its prized recruit when it takes on Chaminade on Friday in the Rainbow Warriors' second exhibition.
Forward Roderick Flemings missed Sunday's 72-70 win over Hawaii-Hilo because of the death of his grandfather and is not expected to return from Dallas until this weekend, coach Bob Nash said yesterday.
The team went through a lengthy film session and dedicated shoot-around to help address some of the Rainbows' offensive woes—40.9 percent shooting and just one 3-pointer made—against the Vulcans.
Point guard Kareem Nitoto went down late in the game from a head-on collision. He remained on the court for an extended period and sat out the final play, but seemed lucid yesterday.
“;(The game) was a trial run,”; said Nitoto, who was told he might have a mild concussion. “;It was difficult for us together as a new team, and new for me in a starting role. But I'm gonna do everything I can to run this team.”;
The regular season opens Nov. 14 against San Francisco.
