Police are looking for three men, one armed with an assault rifle, who robbed several people during a home invasion in St. Louis Heights last night.
At about 11 p.m., a 21-year-old man was at home on Oswald Street with nine other people, some of them fellow tenants, when there was a knock at the door, police said.
When the door was answered, the suspects forced their way into the home, police said.
One of the suspects were armed with an assault-type rifle, police said. The occupants were ordered to lie on the ground and two of them were hit with the butt of the rifle and suffered minor injuries, police said.
The suspects asked about a former tenant and demanded drugs from the current tenants, police said. The suspects eventually learned that the person they were looking for was not there, police said.
The suspects then stole money and some property, including cell phones, police said. There was no indication of drugs or drug use in the home, police said.
The first suspect was described as being in his early to mid-20s, about 5 feet, 8- or 9-inches tall, about 250 pounds wearing a black hoodie and black pants.
The second suspect was in his early 20s, about 6 feet tall and about 170 to 180 pounds with a black hoodie, black pants and a dark-colored bandanna.
The third suspect is said to be in his early 20s, 5 feet, 7 inches tall and about 240 to 250 pounds. He also wore a black hoodie, black pants and a dark bandanna.
