Man arrested in robbery of Aiea store

Police arrested a 34-year-old man who allegedly robbed a store owner in Aiea yesterday morning.

Police said the man entered the store and approached the counter. The suspect allegedly demanded money and said he had a weapon, police said.

The store owner gave the suspect some cash, and the suspect then reached into the register and allegedly took more, police said.

The man fled in a vehicle, and security gave chase.

The man was later identified and arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery.

The man was released pending further investigation late yesterday morning.

 

Man, 36, arrested in attack on wife

Police arrested a 36-year-old Mililani man Tuesday who allegedly assaulted and attempted to sexually assault his 34-year-old wife.

The woman reported being held against her will while her husband allegedly assaulted her at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

 

Teen charged with injuring officer

A Honolulu police officer sustained a broken finger and bruises when he was allegedly assaulted while breaking up a large fight at Kalihi Waena Neighborhood Park on Monday afternoon, police said.

Dexter P. Tuigamala, 18, of Kalihi was charged yesterday with first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer and second-degree assault. Police said the suspect pushed one officer and hit another officer from behind in the 3:10 p.m. affray.

 

Police seek sexual assault suspect

Police are looking for a man in his 40s who allegedly sexually assaulted a 23-year-old co-worker in Ko Olina.

The woman told police she had been sexually assaulted on two separate occasions by her co-worker. The sexual assaults occurred on May 9 between 7 and 8 p.m. and May 16 at 4:30 p.m. Police said it is still unclear where the sexual assaults occurred and the matter remains under investigation. Police said the man had not been identified by name.

Big Island man charged in burglaries

Prosecutors charged a Kailua-Kona man with burglary, identity theft and other offenses after he was arrested Sunday night for entering two homes without permission, police said.

Police arrested Darren Kamu Grace inside a home in the Kailua View Estates subdivision after responding to complaints about a man entering the house and a man seen sleeping in a laundry room.

Grace was initially arrested on suspicion of unauthorized entry, burglary, drug and theft charges. But detectives also connected him to criminal tampering and use of personal information cases.

Grace was charged with a variety of offenses Monday night and remains under investigation in a theft case, police said. He was being held in lieu of $18,000 bail.
