ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
Boys
Jacob Edwards, Ka'u track and field: The senior placed first in the 110- and 300-meter hurdles and the triple jump in the state championships, even though there is no track at his school.

Girls
Katie Manuma, Campbell softball: The BYU-bound senior pitched four complete-game wins with 29 innings pitched, two earned runs given up, a 0.48 ERA and 27 strikeouts as the Sabers captured their first state softball championship.

Nicole Arata, Campbell: 7-for-12 with seven RBIs in four games at the state tourney
Taylor Ephan, Waimea: 7-for-10, six runs against Pac-Five, Kalaheo and Waialua
Jasmine Ioane, Punahou: went 3-1 at the state tourney, allowing just four earned runs in 27 innings (1.03 ERA) with 23 strikeouts and four walks; also hit two home runs and had eight RBIs

Ku'uipo Nakoa, Hawaii Prep: first in triple jump and 300-meter hurdles; second in long jump and 100-meter hurdles
Zhane Santiago, Kahuku: won long jump and 100-meter hurdles; second in triple jump and 300-meter hurdles
