Aloha Auto Group Ltd. will reopen the service department at its Waipahu Kia dealership June 1 “;so it will be full service for sales, service and parts,”; said Bill van den Hurk, president.
The dealership and its ancillary departments closed about a year ago due to the recession, but “;the business has come back since January,”; van den Hurk said, leading the company to reopen the dealership at 94-223 Farrington Highway 3 1/2 months ago.
The business has been consolidated at its airport-area dealership at Nimitz Highway and Lagoon Drive, where service hours were expanded on weekdays and Saturdays to accommodate customers. Service department hours are likely to revert to 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday once the Waipahu facility gets back into full swing.
» General Motors Co. executives want their own auto-financing arm so they can offer more competitive lease and loan deals, according to a source.
The executives want to buy back the auto financing business from the former GMAC Financial Services or start their own operations. GM sold a 51 percent stake in GMAC Financial Services in 2006 when it was starved for cash.
