Cookbook honors soldier

Just in time for Mother's Day comes the launching of the “;Sub-Zero and Wolf Hawaii Cookbook,”; an online recipe book compiled in remembrance of a fallen soldier.

Staff member Mary Jo Brostrom lost her son, 1st Lt. Jonathan P. Brostrom, while he served in Afghanistan in 2008.

Each staffer contributed to the more than 40 local recipe collection that features soups, salads, sides, entrees and desserts. The recipes from Brostrom's kitchen include one for chocolate/potato chip cookies that she shipped to her son while he was on duty.

All cookbook proceeds will go to Jonathan Brostrom's alma mater, Damien Memorial School, which recognizes a deserving student with the Hahai 'Oe Ia'u (Follow Me) Award, presented in memory of Brostrom.

The cookbook can be downloaded at www.ShareYourTable.com for $5.
