City's lei contest draws 215 entries

“;He lei no Ke'elikolani”; (”;A lei for Ke'elikolani”;) was the theme for the city's 2010 lei contest, held Saturday in celebration of May Day.
As is the annual tradition, lei makers flocked to Kapiolani Park to present their creations; 215 people entered this year in all categories.
Bill Char was awarded the Mayor's Grand Prize. Randy Akau won first place in the theme lei category, Sandra A. Furoyama placed second and Char took third.
