They usually save the big award for the end, but Andreas Weber had a plane to catch.
Weber and his University of Hawaii tennis teammates left last night for Fresno, Calif., where they'll try for a third WAC title in a row this week. But first, Weber was given The Jack Bonham Award at UH's Scholar-Athlete dinner at the Stan Sheriff Center. Volleyball player Aneli Cubi-Otineru also received the award considered the highest honor a student-athlete can receive from UH.
In all, 180 scholar-athlete awards were given out last night.
