Speeding possible in motorcycle death

The man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and third-degree criminal property damage.
Police said the man was asked to leave by an employee who refused to serve him more drinks. When the man allegedly began yelling and swearing at her, police were called.
The incident occurred at about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday.
After the officer arrived at the Sand Island Sports Club, 197 Sand Island Access Road, he still refused to leave and hit the officer with his hands, police said.

Judge backs fired officers' reinstatement
WAILUKU » A judge has confirmed an arbitrator's award calling for the reinstatement of two fired Maui Police Department officers.
Circuit Judge Joseph Cardoza said Wednesday that the court cannot assume the role of someone who can second-guess what has occurred in arbitration.
Martell Irish and Derek Kaaukai were fired by the department in 2005 after being accused of beating a man under arrest in 2004.
Irish was found not guilty of a misdemeanor assault charge in 2007. Kaaukai was not charged and could not be identified by the alleged victim.
The State of Hawaii Organization of Police Officers union filed grievances over the officers' firings. In January arbitrator Patrick Yim sustained the grievances and ordered that Irish and Kaaukai be reinstated.
