A 1999 green Isuzu Rodeo belonging to a Mililani family whose son is missing turned up abandoned and burned yesterday in Leeward Oahu.

Since his disappearance April 7, the family of 24-year-old Jamil Khan has been putting up fliers all over Mililani and is pleading for the public's help for any clues to his whereabouts.

“;It's not like him to be gone this long,”; his mother, Sheila Khan, told reporters at the main police station yesterday. “;He didn't say that night where he was going.”;

Khan, a Mililani High School graduate, was last seen leaving the family's Mililani home at 10:30 p.m. after watching TV with his family. He drove off in the Isuzu found yesterday, but police would not disclose a more specific location or details about its condition.

Despite being a “;very private family,”; Khan's parents came forward because they want the public's help.

The detectives, who are actively investigating the case and interviewing witnesses, prevented the Khans from answering some questions from the media, including what his friends have told them.

Jamil Khan is described as 6 feet tall, 165 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes but was last seen wearing green-tinted contact lenses.
