Team Aloha en route
Many of Hawaii's top girls basketball players will board a plane this afternoon and depart for the Arizona Elite Spring Classic at Arizona State in Tempe.
Team Aloha, coached by Fran Villarmia-Kahawai, is comprised of: Dawnyelle Awa, Lia Galdeira and Anuhea Wall of Konawaena; Hailey-Ann Maeda and Mysha Sataraka of Punahou; Kirsten Liana and Brydgette Tatupu-Leopoldo of Farrington; Kalei Adolpho of Molokai; Dejah Fa'asoa of Kaimuki; and Alex Masaquel of 'Iolani.
The tournament tips off on Friday. Mayor Mufi Hanneman will assist Villarmia-Kahawai.

Lahainaluna junior guard Maiki Viela is having a busy and fun week.
Viela, who joined Team Taurasi of the California Storm club, was part of the squad's wins over West Coast Premier and Cal Sparks in tourney play.
Team Taurasi will compete in the Boo Williams Invitational this weekend in Hampton, Va.
Punahou girls basketball coach Mike Taylor will be there, assisting Team Taurasi head coach George Quintero.
“;She's worked really hard in practice sessions last week and is learning a lot from Coach George,”; Taylor said of Viela. “;She's really enjoying her experience with (Quintero) and the girls, as well. It'll be fun to see Maiki and the team compete against the nation's best players.”;
