Toddlers rule at Discovery Center
The Children's Discovery Center will have daily programs aimed at its littlest visitors this week in honor of the Week of the Young Child.

Contest seeks young pianists
Young pianists from around the globe are being sought for the annual Aloha International Piano Festival and Competition. Participants range in age from 5 to 25 and compete in five age categories in both solo and concerto divisions.
The festival also presents master classes with concert pianists, an optional competition and a recital series showcasing world-class artists from June 12 to 19 at the Hawai'i Convention Center for nominal fees.
The competition for the solo division will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 12. Prizes for the solo division include prize money, scholarships and performing on June 13 in the Aloha Piano Festival Concert, which is free and open to the public.
The concerto division competition will take place June 19.
First-place winners of each level earn an opportunity to appear as a soloist with the Hawaii Youth Symphony in its winter and spring concerts.
