» Neil Abercrombie, a Democrat who resigned his U.S. House seat to run for Hawaii governor, was a special assistant to then-schools Superintendent Charles Toguchi in the 1980s. A story on Page 28 yesterday misstated Abercrombie's job in Toguchi's office.
» A map on Page 35 yesterday placed Austin, Minn., in its next-door state of Wisconsin.
Clarification
» An editorial on Page 27 yesterday was meant to assert that public employee unions want a money transfer from the Hurricane Relief Fund to the state Department of Education to total $90 million so it could include employees whom Gov. Linda Lingle considers not to be essential to return school days to teachers and students. Lingle proposed a transfer of $60 million for employees essential for that purpose.
