An Aiea man said he received $60 for letting his fellow defendants use his apartment for a prostitution operation involving a runaway 16-year-old girl, advertising her services on Craigslist and transporting the girl in his car to one of her “;dates.”;

Now Spencer Miyahira, 21, faces a 10-year mandatory minimum prison term after pleading guilty yesterday in federal court to one count of sex trafficking of a minor.

In exchange for his cooperation, the government promises to drop two other charges against him when a federal judge sentences him in July. Miyahira is the second defendant in the case to plead guilty.

Brad Yick Kin Young, 21, pleaded guilty in a similar deal with the government last month.

Jewel Aquino is scheduled to plead guilty later this month.

The other defendants are Marcus Xavier Arrington and Anthony T. Fuller, both 20, from Halawa Housing.

Miyahira said he used his debit card to secure the advertisement on Craigslist and used his car to transport the girl to a customer. He said Arrington gave him the $60.

The girl, now 17, told authorities Arrington forced her to have sex with customers for money during a 10-day period in December 2008 by threatening her with a handgun and giving her marijuana and cocaine. She said Arrington also told her to tell customers she was 18 years old.

The other defendants assisted by advertising the girl's services, transporting her and providing security, according to a federal indictment against them.

The girl escaped and told her mother what happened. The mother reported her daughter's ordeal to an advocacy agency, which reported it to Honolulu police.
