HILO » Outgoing Chancellor Rose Tseng has a parting gift for the University of Hawaii-Hilo.
She and her husband, Raymond, have pledged $100,000 to the school.
University system President M.R.C. Greenwood says the gift will launch an endowment to be called the Rose and Raymond Tseng Distinguished Lectureship at UH-Hilo.
Greenwood says the endowment will fund visits by leaders from various disciplines to deliver presentations on a wide range of subjects.
In recognition of the donation, the University of Hawaii Board of Regents has proposed renaming the university's reception room the Rose and Raymond Tseng Terrace.
Tseng has led the university since 1998. She is scheduled to step down at the end of the school year.
