Gusty winds force paraglider's rescue
A 25-year-old woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries Friday when she encountered gusty and shifting winds while paragliding in Mokuleia.
The woman had taken off from the ridgeline above Camp Erdman at about the 1,300-foot elevation, but she spun around and had a rough or hard landing just below the top of the mountain, fire Capt. Robert Main said.
Fire rescue personnel assessed the woman and found her alert, then brought her down by helicopter.
