WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
» Utah freshman Iwalani Rodrigues (Kalani '08) scored nine points in a 70-60 overtime loss to San Diego State in the Mountain West Conference tournament final on Saturday. The Utes play at Saint Mary's (Calif.) in the first round of the women's National Invitation Tournament on Sunday.
» Idaho sophomore Shaena Kuehu (Punahou '08) had 17 points, seven rebounds and four steals and freshman Natasha Helsham (Aiea '09) had nine points and three rebounds in an 80-66 loss to top-seeded Fresno State in the semifinals of the Western Athletic Conference tournament Friday.
BASEBALL
» Cal State Northridge junior Ridge Carpenter (Kalani '07) had three hits and scored a run in a 13-7 win over UNLV on Tuesday. Carpenter, a transfer from Hartnell Junior College, has started all 15 games this season and is hitting .313 with 11 runs scored and 10 stolen bases.
» Cal Poly Pomona senior Marcus Makia (Baldwin '05) went 7-for-15 with a double, home run and seven RBIs to help the Broncos take three out of four games against Sacramento State over the weekend. Makia is hitting .391 this season with a team-leading eight doubles.
» Colorado School of Mines junior Nick Wong (Roosevelt '07) singled and scored a run in a 12-10 loss to Air Force on Tuesday. The Falcons travel to Hawaii to play a four-game series against the Rainbows beginning tomorrow.
SOFTBALL
» Mississippi State sophomore left fielder Kaili Smith (Kapolei '08) finished 7-for-15 with three home runs and 10 RBIs to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-3 record in the Bayer Cropscience Classic over the weekend in Fresno, Calif.
» Eastern Kentucky junior DeAnn Horswill (Kalaheo '07) went 2-for-4 with a double, home run and two RBIs in an 8-0 win over Winston-Salem State on Saturday.
» Purdue senior Liane Horiuchi (Kamehameha '05) finished Saturday's doubleheader 4-for-6 with a home run, four runs scored and two stolen bases to lead the Boilermakers to wins over San Diego and Buffalo.
WOMEN'S GOLF
» Claremont-Mudd-Scripps sophomore Brittany Isobe (Punahou '08) shot a 14-over 86 to help the Stags defeat Redlands in a golf match Friday. Isobe's round was fifth-best among 12 golfers.
WOMEN'S WATER POLO
» Occidental (Calif.) junior Karie Nickle (Kamehameha '07) had a game-high five goals and freshman Nanea Fujiyama (Kamehameha '09) scored three times in a 17-7 victory over Chapman on Friday. Sophomore Sarah Lee (Kealakehe '08) scored a goal for the Panthers.
» Pacific (Calif.) junior Dara Tawarahara ('Iolani '07) scored three goals in a 10-9 double-overtime loss to Indiana on Tuesday.
» Siena (N.Y.) junior NIcole Hagi (Kapolei '07) scored her fourth goal of the season in a 15-11 win over Grove City on Sunday. The Saints finished 3-1 in the Wolverine Invitational, losing only to Michigan.
