Regional honor for BYUH's Alves

Brigham Young-Hawaii senior forward Lucas Alves was named to the Daktronics NCAA II West Region second team yesterday.
Alves, the Daktronics National Player of the Year last season, missed the first eight games of the season while recovering from knee surgery. Averaging 15.4 points per game, he became the second player in the history of the Seasider program to surpass 1,800 points (1,809) on Monday.
BYUH (20-5) is seeded sixth in the NCAA II West Regional that begins today in Bellingham, Wash. The Seasiders take on No. 3 seed Seattle Pacific (22-5) at 10:30 a.m. Hawaii time.
