KS-Hawaii taps former assistant as football coach

Former assistant coach Dave Baldwin is the new head football coach at Kamehameha-Hawaii.
Athletic director Bob Wagner confirmed the hiring yesterday.
“;Dave has been with us for over a year. He coached varsity for several years at Kamehameha-Kapalama, including when they won a state championship,”; Wagner said. “;He also won several state championships as a player at Saint Louis. He is an excellent football coach and also has a real passion for working with young people to help them be successful in life, as well as football.”;
Baldwin succeeds Brian Kelson, who was head coach for two seasons after the departure of Ulima Afoa.
The Warriors were 6-4 overall last season, finishing second to Hawaii Prep in the Big Interscholastic Interscholastic Federation Division II race.
