Concert to help cancer patient
POSTED: Saturday, March 06, 2010
Musicians Kapono and Keola Beamer and Jon Osorio will perform March 27 in a benefit concert to raise money for Laua'e Beamer, who was diagnosed with cancer in January.
Laua'e is the wife of Kapono Beamer's son, Kamana. In February she gave birth to a healthy daughter and a week later began cancer treatment. Proceeds will help pay medical expenses.
The concert is set for 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Calvary by the Sea Church in Honolulu. Auction items include sails on the Hokule'a, a stand-up paddleboard and art pieces from Solomon Enos and Peggy Chun. Anyone wanting to donate items to be auctioned can contact Trisha Kehaulani Watson at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Tickets are $25-$100 and are available at benefitforlauae.blogspot.com or at Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii at Ward Warehouse.
