'Second Annual Black Box Black Blocks Summer Theatre and Dance Festival'

Elisa Diehl invites local playwrights, choreographers, directors, actors and dancers to participate in this summer theater showcase at the UH-Manoa Earle Ernst Lab Theatre. New plays and newly created dance pieces are welcome with the provision that they must be performed on a “;black box”; set that consists “;of three black theater cubes and nothing else, and the cubes are used creatively.”;

'Shooting Stars'

The Diamond Head Theatre youth performing troupe will hold auditions for children and teens 7-17.

Children should be prepared with sheet music in their own key that is age appropriate; an accompanist will be provided. There will be no transpositions on site, no singing with tapes or karaoke tracks, and no a cappella allowed.

For the dance audition children should wear closed-toe shoes (jazz shoes preferred) and be dressed for movement. Bring tap shoes as well if they are available.

Registration begins at 12:45 p.m. Auditions will begin promptly as scheduled.
