Ward store hosts jewelry designer

Cottage by the Sea welcomes jewelry designer Robyn Rhodes to its Ward Warehouse store from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The designer, whose pieces are worn by such celebs as Jessica Alba and Penelope Cruz, is bringing her latest collections, while helping shoppers customize lengths and stones. Her jewelry will be discounted 20 percent on both days and a drawing will be held for a $200 jewelry giveaway, with Rhodes drawing the winner's name Sunday afternoon.

Hard Rock adds Who to fundraiser

Hard Rock Cafe has added The Who as its Signature Series 27 partners in support of City of Hope.

Fifteen percent of the purchase price of T-shirts featuring The Who graphics or The Who Signature Series 27 pin will support City of Hope's efforts to conquer cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases.

The T-shirts are navy, of 100 percent cotton and available in a men's style in sizes medium to XXL, at $26. The limited-edition pin is $12.

Seminar teaches remodel basics

Step into spring at recycle event

Spring is just around the corner, so if you're planning on major cleaning, take those stacks of glossy magazines, catalogs and flyers cluttering up your space down to the Spring Cleaning Recycling Event.

Hosted by Kokua Market and Hagadone Recycling, the goal is to teach Earth friendly habits, decrease waste and be a good neighbor.

Although cardboard, paperboard or newspaper don't qualify this round, junk mail and phones books do, so haul them over, along with the magazines, to Kokua Market parking lot from 8 a.m. to

1 p.m. March 21.

Those who donate will get a coupon for a free oatcake and coffee redeemable during the event. Also, the store is offering 10 percent off purchases. Just pick up a receipt for your donated items and present it to the cashier for the discount.
