Foreclosures for 2 isles online

Prudential Locations, Hawaii's largest locally owned and operated real estate company, has launched a free Web site that offers both Maui and Oahu foreclosure listings. The site, PrudentialLocations.com, was started to meet the market's increased interest in distressed properties.

Foreclosures occur when a homeowner defaults on loan payments and the lender files a public default notice. Most often, the lender will take ownership of the property with the intention of reselling it. A short sale refers to a situation in which more is owed on the home than what it likely will sell for on the market and the bank, or other mortgage lender, allows a sale of the home for less than the mortgage is worth.
