Valentine's Day isn't the same for everyone, so in addition to sophisticated, sultry designs offered up, at Princesse Tam-Tam you'll also find more affordable and playful lines such as Jezebel, for a more light-hearted romp.

Mardi Gras masks double as art

; Everyone is counting pennies these days, so if you have to blow some bucks it would make sense to want more bang for your dollars.

At first glance, intricately decorated Mardi Gras masks would seem to fall into the frivolous, rather than frugal, category.

But these from Pier 1 Imports at Ward Centers will not only top your Fat Tuesday costume, but are stunning enough to dress your home after the day's events. When the celebration is over, hang it on a wall like any other work of art, or place it in a shadow box first to protect it from dust, ready for next year's Mardi Gras parade.

Hand-painted in Italy, they run from $18 for the featherless variety to $65 or more for masks with all the frills.
