Kaufman on award watch list
Hawaii high jumper Amber Kaufman is among 10 athletes selected to the watch list for The Bowerman, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced yesterday.
The Bowerman is a newly created award given to the top male and female collegiate athletes in track and field. Kaufman is tied with Arizona's Liz Patterson for the top jump among collegiate women this season at 6 feet, 3 inches.
Three male and three female finalists will be named June 15.
UH baseball team hosts alumni
Kenny Harrison, Matt Apana, Paul Ah Yat, Vinnie Catricala and Matt Inouye are among the former Hawaii baseball players scheduled to participate in Saturday's alumni game at Les Murakami Stadium.
The 1 p.m. contest pits the alumni against the current team, which was picked to finish third in the Western Athletic Conference this season. Tickets range from $3 for students to $8 for lower and middle level seats.

Kemoeatus host football clinic
“;Comin' Home NFL,”; featuring brothers and pro players Chris and Ma'ake Kemoeatu, includes skill clinics at Kahuku and Radford high schools for prep and youth players next week.
Next Thursday's clinic at Kahuku is from 6 to 9:30 p.m. for youth players grades 3 through 8. On Feb. 20, three clinics will be held at Radford: high school from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.; elementary students from noon to 2:30 p.m., and middle school students from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
The suggested donation is $10. The deadline to register is Tuesday.
Chris Kemoeatu plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Ma'ake for the Carolina Panthers.
