UH volleyballers drop in poll
Two losses last week translated into a drop of two spots in the poll for the Hawaii men's volleyball team.
The Warriors (6-5, 4-4 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) fell to No. 8 in the AVCA Division I-II Coaches Top 15 yesterday. Last week, Hawaii was tied for sixth with Long Beach State.
Cal State Northridge (9-2) remained at No. 1, with 11 first-place votes, followed by USC (7-3), with three first-place votes. UCLA (6-5), which defeated Hawaii twice last week, moved up a spot to No. 3. The Bruins received the remaining two first-place votes.
BYU (7-4) is No. 4, followed by Stanford (5-3), Long Beach State (5-4) and Pepperdine (4-4).
LMU women top Hawaii in tennis
Loyola Marymount defeated Hawaii 4-3 in women's tennis yesterday at Los Angeles.
Elisaveta Pironkova and Bliss Nixon led the way for the Lions (1-1) by winning in singles and doubles.
Natasha Zorec picked up victories in singles and doubles for the Rainbow Wahine (1-3).
The two teams split the six singles matches, but Loyola Marymount took the doubles point by winning two out of the three matches.

Individual tickets for the Hawaii baseball season are on sale. Tickets are $8 in the lower and middle levels. Upper-level seats are $6.

Reilly is PacWest player of week
Brigham Young-Hawaii sophomore guard Anthony Reilly was picked as the Pacific West Conference men's basketball player of the week yesterday.
Reilly led the Seasiders to a 3-0 record last week, averaging 14 points and six rebounds while shooting 73 percent from the floor.
