A 27-year-old Hilo man pleaded guilty to producing child pornography after he filmed himself sexually assaulting his friend's children and traded the images on the Internet.
Daniel Guerrero Seguerre III pleaded guilty to three counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession before U.S. Magistrate Barry Kurren yesterday.
Seguerre faces a mandatory minimum prison term of 15 years when he is sentenced by U.S. District Judge David Ezra on June 7.
The maximum prison term is 30 years for each child pornography production offense and a $250,000 fine. Seguerre also faces 10 years for possession and a $250,000 fine.
In federal court yesterday, Assistant U.S. Attorney Amy Olson said Seguerre produced still and video images of himself sexually assaulting three children, two girls and a boy. The girls are now 3 and 7, and the boy is 5.
Authorities discovered the images in September after they seized a computer from a man in Oklahoma who was suspected of child pornography. The computer contained videos and still images of a man sexually abusing young children, among other explicit images.
The suspect who owned the computer told agents that he received the images from “;Whatzmylove,”; also known as “;Danny Seg,”; with whom he regularly communicated online, according to a court document.
One video shows Seguerre sexually assaulting a boy while the child was screaming and crying in pain. Another video shows him sexually abusing a prepubescent girl while she is crying and asking for her mother, according to the court document.
A third video shows Seguerre removing the diaper from a young girl before he fondled her.
Agents seized his computer and discovered more than 200,000 still images and more than 3,400 videos of child pornography.
Authorities arrested Seguerre in Hilo on Sept. 7. He was on probation for theft and forgery at the time of his arrest.
