The City and County of Honolulu is preparing for the fourth and final phase of its islandwide curbside recycling program.
About 42,000 homes on Oahu that have automated refuse collection will start receiving their recycling carts today.
The delivery process takes about 10 weeks, and the program is set to begin the week of May 3.
The city's Department of Environmental Services will deliver green and blue carts to homes from Waikele to Makakilo, Waipahu, Ewa Beach to West Loch, and from Honokai to Makua.
Residents are asked to not use the carts until the May start date.
