Kahuku earns date with Kaimuki in OIA playoffs

Kahuku edged Leilehua 47-44 last night in an OIA White quarterfinal game at Leilehua gym.

With less than a minute left, the game was tied at 43-43 when Leina Faleolo made a layup and was fouled. She coverted the free throw to give the Red Raiders a three-point lead.

Three players scored in double digits for Kahuku. Joshlyn Noga lead the way with 12 points and Alysha Cummings and Jessica Falemalu both scored 10.

Vanessa Bocobo scored 10 points to lead Leilehua in the loss.

The Red Raiders outscored the Mules 24-19 in the first half.

Kahuku will face Kaimuki in the semifinals of the OIA White Conference playoffs on Feb. 5.

Alison Pologa moved up from the junior varsity team and scored a game-high 29 points to lead the Bulldogs past the Cougars.
Kaiser was hot from beyond the arc, sinking nine 3-pointers, but still fell short of a victory.
