A memorial service for longtime 'Iolani football coach and athletic director Eddie Hamada will be held Sunday at the school.

Hamada died on Jan. 3. He was 81.

Visitation is 9 a.m. to noon, followed by the service from noon to 1 p.m. A reception will follow at the cafeteria.

Hamada played at 'Iolani in the 1940's and became head coach in 1960.

He won three ILH titles and played to a 7-7 tie against Waianae in the 1980 Prep Bowl.

Hamada quit coaching in 1987, but stayed on as athletics director until 1992.
