Cuizon advances at world juniors

Hawaii's Alessa Cuizon and Malia Manuel are set to meet in the women's quarterfinals of the Billabong ASP World Junior Championship. Cuizon posted a score of 14.67 points out of a possible 20 to edge Bethany Hamilton in her third-round heat yesterday at North Narrabeen Beach in Australia.

On the men's side, Granger Larsen, Tonino Benson, Kiron Jabour, Keanu Asing, Clay Marzo and Albee Layer remain in the field entering the second round.

Today's scheduled heats were called off due to poor conditions. The meet could resume tomorrow.
