John Kelly of St. Louis, Mo., trailed Mason, a former Hawaii-Hilo golfer, by one stroke yesterday.
Hawaii players Kevin Hayashi, T.J. Kua, Tadd Fujikawa, Parker McLachlin and Dean Wilson are already in the field.
