UH divers sweep 3-meter event
For the second straight day, the University of Hawaii women's diving team swept the 3-meter event at the Hawaii Diving Invite. Thomas Rugg finished second in the 1-meter event for the men's team and qualified for the NCAA Zone E Qualifying meet along with Douglas Cohen. Daniella Nero, Stephanie De Lima and Hannah Bocksnick qualified for the NCAA Zone E Qualifying meet for the women's team.
Seeds advance in Challenger
All four seeded singles players advanced into the quarterfinals at the Honolulu Challenger Wild Card tennis tournament. Top seeded Ikaika Jobe, a volunteer coach at UH, and second seed Andreas Weber advanced into the quarterfinals in straight sets. Third seeded Hendrik Bode and fourth-seeded Nikola Petrov. The tournament runs through tomorrow and the winner will receive an entry into the USTA Pro Circuit event on Jan. 24.
Softball Summer Tournament set
The 2010 Summer Invitational Tournament will take place July 23-25 at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

McLachlin helps junior golf
Parker McLachlin for the second year will help in the Birdies for Juniors program, which benefits the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association. For each birdie that McLachlin makes during his five starts on the West Coast swing he will donate $50 to the HSJGA. Waikoloa Beach Resort has teamed up with McLachlin and will match his pledge.
