The Sheraton Hawaii Bowl telecast on ESPN drew a 2.35 rating for the matchup between SMU and Nevada, with approximately 2.3 million households tuning in on Christmas Eve.
The rating for SMU's 45-10 blowout — which featured the Mustangs' first bowl appearance in 25 years and June Jones' return to Hawaii — ranks sixth among the eight Hawaii Bowls since the game's inception in 2002.
“;It was a solid showing for the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl,”; executive director David Matlin said. “;We tracked well against past years and millions of people across the country, a lot in some cold weather, got to see a little bit of paradise.”;
