Cancer advocate to be remembered

Chris Pablo, an advocate for people with cancer throughout his 14-year battle with the disease, will be remembered at a “;celebration of life”; memorial Friday at St. Andrew's Cathedral.
The service will begin at 6 p.m. Friends may call after 3 p.m. The family suggests that casual or aloha attire be worn and that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to “;The Pablo Education Fund.”; Donations for the fund to provide college education for his two youngest sons may be made at any Bank of Hawaii branch.
Pablo, 59, died Dec. 9. He was formerly director of public affairs with Kaiser Permanente. Since his first diagnosis of myelogenic leukemia, he worked with the state Legislature on measures concerning patients' rights, indoor smoking and providing breast and cervical cancer treatment for uninsured women.
His survivors include wife Sandra; sons Chris Enderton and Nathan and Zachary Pablo; mother Rufina Pablo; brother Michael; and one grandson.
