Bible classes
Biblical characters, messages and mysteries will be explored as the Bible Institute of Hawaii begins its winter schedule of classes this month.

The class will be offered at noon Thursdays at Makiki Christian Church and at 7 p.m. Thursdays, beginning Jan. 14.
» “;Meet the Scandalous Jesus.”; Ada Lum uses the Gospel of Luke to describe the politically courageous, empathetic and other sides of Jesus. The class will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesdays at Community Church of Honolulu.
» “;One Day at a Time.”; Rebecca Ovitt will lead the course for people experiencing divorce, widowhood or other physical or emotional separation. It will meet at 4 p.m. Sundays at University Avenue Baptist Church.
» “;World Religions.”; The Rev. Bong Ro teaches about religious traditions of Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Taoism and others religions from the viewpoint of their relationship with Christianity. The class is at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at Kaimuki Christian Church.
