Ua ho'olale 'ia mai au e ka 'oē mai a ka ua 'Āuānei o 'Aiea i ke kaupoku o ka hale, e līhau mai ana i ka lau nahele, a e ho'oma'ū ana i ka 'āina. Ke waiho nei au i kēia hue wai 'olu i mua o 'oukou, e nā hoa heluhelu o Kauakūkalahale, i inu 'oukou a kena ka pu'u, a i ola ho'i kākou i nā waiwai a ke Akua i ho'olako mai ai no ko ka honua nei.
No ko'u mana'o he mea ko'iko'i ia no kākou, no laila, ke hāpai a'e nei au i kēia nīnau e pili ana i kēlā mau hua 'ōlelo e kau a'e nei ma luna. Aia nō i ka loa'a o ka 'āina ke aha? 'O ke kālā anei? 'A'ole loa. 'O ke kula paha? 'A'ole lā. 'A'ohe hiki i ka waha ke 'ai i ia mau mea i ka wā e lele mai ai ka wī ma luna o ka 'āina. No laila, he aha ho'i? Eia, 'o ko kākou ola ia. Aia nō ko kākou ola i ka loa'a o ka 'āina.
I kēia au a kākou e noho nei, ke lako nei nā hale kū'ai i nā 'ano mea 'ai like 'ole. 'O ka mea 'āpiki, 'a'ohe o kākou ho'omaopopo loa i kahi i hele mai ai kā kākou mea 'ai. He ho'ohana 'ia paha kahi lā'au make ma luna o kā kākou mea 'ai? Eia nō kekahi po'e ke lālau makapō wale aku nei i nā 'ano mea 'ai like 'ole ma ka hale kū'ai me ka ho'omaopopo 'ole i kona pono. He pono ke maka'ala i loko o kēia māhele, o pō'ino auane'i paha kākou.
No laila, pehea kākou e lanakila ai i loko o kēia māhele? He 'ōlelo a'o ko ka wā ma mua, “He huli ka lima i lalo, he ola, he huli ka lima i luna, he nele.” He 'oia'i'o. E ha'alele kākou i ke kauka'i 'ana, 'o ka hale kū'ai ke kumu ho'okahi nāna e ho'olako mai; e ho'oikaika kākou i loko o ka mahi 'ana i ka 'āina, a na ko kākou lima pono'ī e lawelawe i kēia hana. Inā e pōmaika'i 'oukou i ka loa'a mai o kahi 'āpana 'āina ma waho o ko 'oukou hale, he maika'i ke mālama 'ia ia ‘āina e hana ai i māla 'ai. Minamina ke waiho mahi 'ole 'ia ka 'āina. 'Auhea 'oukou, he nani maoli ka pā mau'u, eia na'e, 'a'ohe hiki i ka mau'u ke hānai i ka 'ōpū.
Ma ke kauka'i mau i ka hale kū'ai, e like ana kākou me ka manu e kauka'i mau ana na kona haku e ho'opiha mau i ke kāhānai. Ma ke kauka'i mau i kona haku, pēlā nō e nāwaliwali ai kona mākaukau, a laila, 'a'ohe ana he wā e māhuahua a'e ai kona 'o'ole'a ma kēia ola honua 'ana.
No laila, e nā kupa kūpa'a o ka 'āina, e no'ono'o pono kākou i ka hana a ka lima a me ke kūlana o ka 'āina. Mai ho'olilo i ka 'āina na ka nāhelehele e uluāhewa, 'a'ohe waiwai, na kākou ia e mālama i ka 'āina a e kanu i nā 'ano'ano e lilo ana he mea hiki i ka waha ke 'ai, o lilo auane'i ua 'āina waiwai nui lā he 'u'a.
