Three males were arrested for second-degree attempted murder yesterday in the morning shooting of a 22-year-old man in a Waipahu apartment.
The victim was reported in critical condition at Queen's Medical Center with a single gunshot wound in the torso.
Police went to the three-building apartment complex at 94-010 Leolua St. in response to a 6:43 a.m. call from a woman.
Honolulu police Maj. Clayton Kau said officers spotted the victim through a screen door, lying in a pool of blood.
The officers found the three other males, ages 17, 18 and 37, in the apartment and took them into custody, Kau said.
It was not immediately determined whether any of them were residents of the apartment.
Kau said that officers had responded an hour earlier to the same address in answer to a call from a man. They were sent to a different apartment where they found nothing wrong.
The three suspects were held at the police cellblock pending charges.
