Medical school fair to promote healthy living

After the holiday season indulgences, thoughts traditionally turn to getting healthy—just in time for the John A. Burns School of Medicine's annual health fair.

The Living Green, Living Healthy Community Health Fair is set from noon to 3 p.m. Jan. 8 at the medical school's Kakaako campus, at 651 Ilalo St.

The fair will feature more than 40 health-promoting booths, and will include free health screenings for blood pressure, body mass index and glucose among others, plus flu vaccinations, yoga demonstrations, entertainment and presentations on sustainability, weight loss, complementary medicine, and more.

And in the spirit of the giving season, a blood drive also will be conducted during the fair.
