You can teach dogs not to pull their leash
POSTED: Tuesday, December 22, 2009
Q: How can I get my dog to stop pulling on her leash?
A: Talk to your dog while walking her. Keep the leash short so she stays close to your side. She'll be less distracted and more mindful of your presence. Pulling on her leash only teaches her that pulling gets results. So if she pulls, just stop walking. Resume walking once she settles.
