The first piece of Hawaii's 2010 recruiting class is officially in place.

The Warriors received a letter of intent from London Sapolu, the son of former UH standout Jesse Sapolu, as the mid-year transfer signing period began on Wednesday.

Sapolu, a 6-foot, 295-pound offensive lineman from Orange Coast (Calif.) College, will enroll at UH for the spring semester. He gave a verbal commitment to the Warriors last summer and finalized the process by submitting his letter.

Sapolu earned All-Southern California Football Association Southern Conference honors this season.

Sapolu's signing comes as several Warriors look forward to taking part in UH's fall commencement exercises tomorrow.

Center John Estes will be among the graduates and will turn his full attention to his professional career after the holidays.

Estes will train at D1 Sports Training in Tennessee to prepare for the NFL Combine and is slated to play in the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 23, according to agent Kenny Zuckerman.

Also expected to join Estes at the graduation ceremony are Aaron Bain, Victor Clore, Jakeem Hawkins, Ray Hisatake, Raphael Ieru, Daniel Johnson, Aaron Kia, Chris Leatigaga, Viliami Nauahi, Brashton Satele, Tuika Tufaga, and Leon Wright-Jackson.
