State Hospital security is topic

Security at the State Hospital in Kaneohe will be discussed at a neighborhood board meeting tomorrow night at Windward Community College.

The Dec. 3 escape of accused child molester David True Seal from the hospital and other incidents prompted the discussion, said Kaneohe Neighborhood Board Member John Flanigan.

A representative from the hospital has been invited to speak, and any concerns brought up will be forwarded to the hospital, Flanigan said.

Seal, who was found not guilty by reason of insanity for the molestation and kidnapping of two girls on Maui, is still at large.

Court documents show Seal attempted to escape twice before and that hospital officials had asked the court to allow staff to administer antipsychotic drugs without Seal's consent because of his recent behavior.
