Two inducted into 2010 Hall

Richard “;Buffalo”; Keaulana and Lenore Muraoka Rittenhouse are the 2010 inductees to the Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame.

Keaulana, a Waipahu High graduate, is a renowned waterman and icon in the surfing world. In 2005 he was inducted into the Huntington Beach Surfing Walk of Fame and his surfing exploits include winning the 1960 Makaha International Surfing Championship.

Muraoka Rittenhouse, a Roosevelt High grad, turned to golf after an ankle injury prevented a basketball career at the University of Hawaii. She was invited to the UH golf team and in 1983 won the United Virginia Bank Golf Classic, an LPGA event.

The induction banquet is set for March 2 at the Honolulu Country Club at 5:30 p.m.

Miranda named UHH soccer coach

Marc Miranda was named the new Hawaii-Hilo women's soccer coach yesterday.

Miranda was head coach at Mid-Pacific the past five years, compiling a 27-26-4 record in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu.

The St. Joseph High graduate was also a volunteer coach at Chaminade and lead assistant for the UHH men's soccer team in 2007.
